What treasures lie beneath the surface of you? What characters, myths,
stories, themes? Join with other
women and discover aspects of yourself that reside behind the persona shown to
the outer world. Ignite your own emergence with this ancient practice of
mask-making, which stems from many of the world’s most ancient cultures.
Friday
evening, we will engage in several deepening activities in order to invite the wise,
mysterious, playful, or powerful aspects of ourselves to emerge through our
masks. Each participant will make a plaster mask, using her own face as a mold.
Saturday, we will
continue to work with both our mask and with our inner process. We will take
inner journeys through guided visualizations, experiment with the power of three
layers, become better
acquainted with what the masks want to show us, and end the day with an earth
ceremony to cleanse and prepare the masks with the energy of Mother Earth.
Sunday, we will quiet ourselves and then decorate our masks from a
place of stillness within, and the masks will become mirrors, reflecting parts
of ourselves previously hidden behind the layers of personality.
Lunch on Saturday will be potluck.
